Iraqi President Saddam Hussein greets Donald Rumsfeld 1983

No one had any doubts about [the Iraqis'] continued involvement in terrorism… The real reason was to help them succeed in the war against Iran.

Noel Koch, former United States Assistant Secretary of Defense

This “Islamic factor” became a major concern for the Soviet leadership during the last phase of the Iran–Iraq War and led them to boost arms supplies to Iraq. “The decision to give Iraq the military edge was universal. Not only the Soviet Union, but the entire Western alliance, largely financed by conservative Arab states, engaged in the most comprehensive and massive arms transfer in history to a Third World state engaged in conflict… The ‘Western package’ for Iraq, however, paled in comparison with the Soviet’s. Top comedians and some liberal viewpoints

What do top comedians have in common? Top comedians from veterans (Steve Martin, Lenny Bruce and George Carlin) to contemporaries (Rick Gervais, Bill Maher, etc), apart from being predominantly male, would appear to share some liberal perspectives:

  • Atheist or anti-theistic (or if not.. anti-racist!?)
  • Mind expanding peace-pipe smoking?
  • Leftist, libertarian politics and activist experience

Perhaps hardly surprising in many regards?

How do we explain, then, Kissinger’s success? Exactly in the terms I outlined, I think. He was a competent middle-level manager, who was an expert in exactly the terms he described: able to articulate the consensus of the powerful. Noam Chomsky 1989

It is fact, not conspiratorial, to say that U.S. presidents, British PMs and European presidents alike have been describing and working towards elements of a “New World Order (NWO)” or similar over the past twenty years. The question is how do you react to it.. with hope.. or with fear.. or a bit of both?

Are the wars of the U.S. ever legitimate?

When you look at the timeline of the U.S. military interventions around the world (here) it occurs to me that the illigitimacy and the devasting outcomes of U.S led wars are getting worse with time..

Methodology:

_____________________________

Create an enemy. Get involved in international conflict by provide weapons and military support to one side. Then continue to be suspicious of the other side or become suspicious of the allie due to the military power that they have been given.

Assert political ideology. What are the proported ideologies that enable a sustained military invasions? Was the U.S. able to conquire the enemy ideology? In many cases the ideologies were strengthened as compared to before the invasion.

React to a ’spark’. What are the specific events (sparks) which were used to justify a major military response? It appears that most of the events were at minimum over-inflated, but typically inaccurate or even false flag operations.

Confront with military force. React to spark with military force. What is the military approach used by the U.S.? Did the  military operation achieve it’s objective? Despite military ’superiority’ with regards to technology and firepower, in almost all cases the answer is no. Read more…
